Pastor Deron Gillespie serves as the Executive Director of the Pensacola Men and Women's Teen Challenge facilities along with his wife, Tracey. Deron and Tracey have seen the devastations that have taken place, not only in an individual’s life in addiction but also the backlash that takes place in the families life as well. Pastor Deron, coming from many years of addiction, knows firsthand the struggles that come with finding freedom from life controlling issues. In 2001, Deron placed himself in Pensacola Teen Challenge, where he found the saving grace of Jesus Christ. After graduating the program in 2002, he went to Brownsville Revival School of Ministry and completed with an Associate’s Degree in Missions. Soon after, he was credentialed with the Assemblies of God. Deron continued to work with the ministry of Pensacola Teen Challenge during this time.
Tracey is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. She worked at A Beka Book for 5 years, during the time that God was refining and working on Deron. Tracey comes from a troubled childhood, which consisted of several foster homes, and God has continued to bring healing in her life. She is excited to share with the women of Teen Challenge how God is the Master Healer in all areas of life and we can trust Him with anything!
In 2005, God brought Tracey into Deron’s life and she started working with him as his assistant at Pensacola Teen Challenge. In 2007, Deron & Tracey were asked to help pioneer a Teen Challenge Men’s Facility in Tallahassee, FL. They are now back, leading the Pensacola Teen Challenge, where Deron had graduated from. Deron considers it an honor to be used by God to help others, in the same program that he received Life Transformation at! Deron and Tracey have a two year old daughter, Breanna. Deron has a 17 year old son, Bryan.
